8 Posting Podcasts to WPMU blogs
There are two parts to these directions: 1) activating the podPress plugin (which only needs to be done once for any blog); and 2) posting mp4a or mp3 files to your blog.
Activating the podPress Plugin
Login to your WPMU blog
From the Administrative panel select Plugins
Move down the plugin list to “podPress” and select the Activate link to the right. The link will change to Deactivate. This has activated the plugin needed to easily add podcasts. You only need to do this once for each blog that you own.
Uploading a Podcast
From the Administrative panel select Write.
You can place a podcast on the front page of your blog by selecting Posts OR you can place a podcast on a separate page by selecting Pages.
Once you have elected to create a Post or a page, move down the page to the Upload function.
Select the Choose File button and browse to find the mp4a or mp3 file that you have created, then select and open the file.
Give the file a Title (and description if you wish) then select Upload.
The file will be uploaded to Titania.
You will next see the file name with an Edit link to the right.
Select the Edit link and a url with the file location will appear.
Select and copy the url.
Almost Done
Move slightly up the page to the Podcasting section.
Select Add Media File.
Paste the URL that you copied into Location.
Give it a title if you wish.
The rest of the options are just that, optional, and you can leave them alone for now.
Select the Publish button just above the podcast section and to the right. (If you are adding a podcast to a Post or Page that has already been published, just hit the Save button.)
Note: By default your podcast will be placed at the bottom of your Post or Page. If you want to place it somewhere else, copy and paste the following code in square brackets where you want the podcast to be displayed: display_podcast
That’s it. Select View Site at the top of the page and check out your podcast.
