Blogging Help

To create a WPMU blog or just to create a username (so you can join someone else’s blog), you need to go here:

Once there you will see the following:

Select “Create a new blog” and see the following screen:

Just a username, please

To be a member of the WPMU community, you need a user name. You need one to build your own blog, and you need one even if all you want to do is join one of your friends’ blogs.

Fill in the Username slot — use a name that means something to you and that you will remember (exactly). You must use a Stockton e-mail address.

Finally, select the appropriate radio button to get a username. You can always get a blog later.

You will see something like the following page:

You will receive an e-mail that allows you to activate your account. It will provide you with the username that you supplied and with a password.

Gimme a blog!

If you selected the radio button for “Gimme a blog!” you will see the following screen:

Note that the blogging software has added your username under blogname. You should replace it with a short and memorable blog address. You should also supply a descriptive blog title. You can change the title later, but the blog name cannot be changed, so choose carefully.

Finally, you will see something like the following message.

You will receive an e-mail with username, blogname, and password. All you need to do to begin work on your blog is to go to your site and login.
