4 Uploading
WPMU has an easy and powerful uploading capability that is accessed through Write on the Administrative Panel.
Just about any file format can be uploaded: doc, pdf, mp3, m4a, mov, etc. Start the process by selecting Write from the Administrative Panel. You can upload within Posts or Pages, so select the category you will be working with.
Move below the editing box to the following section:
Select Choose File and locate the file you want to upload on your hard drive, cd, flash drive, etc.
You should name your file, and you can type in an optional description.
- Select the Upload button.
Once you have uploaded your file, a reduced version of the file appears. If the file is an image you can show it thumbnail size or full size. You can place a link to the file in the Post or Page you are currently editing (select File), into another entirely new page (select Page), or to create no link to the file (select None). Generally, folks select File and place a link in the Post or Page they are editing.
Make your selections and then press Send to Editor. This will imbed the link as you have chosen.
If you elect to show the file at thumbsize and link it to the file, you will be able to select the thumb and bring up the full-size document.
Finally, WHERE the link is placed in your file is bit picky. Before you select Send to Editor, double-check that the cursor is where you want it to be in the editing box.
Finally, remember that once you have uploaded a file, you can manage it by selecting Manage on the Administrative Panel and then selecting Uploads from the secondary Administrative Panel.
