IBM’s Veggie Scale

IBM’s Veggie scale is a new device for supermarkets that can identify any fruit or vegetable and will price the purchase. The scale is attached to a camera that can identify any fruit or vegetable using such characteristics as hue, texture, or curvature. It can even differentiate between various types of apples.
It is presently being tested in Metro stores in Germany. I think it will be a great additon to supermarkets once it gets incorporated into all stores. For additional information, read the CNN article.
