Microsoft fixes massive site, service log-in glitch

On Tuesday, Microsoft announced that they had fixed the problem of logging on to its online services throughout the day. On the other hand, they cannot explain what the problem is with logging into Hotmail, Xbox Live, and messenger. As of this morning, customers were still complaing that they could not sign in to their accounts.

This is not the first time that multiple Microsoft services have been crippled at the same time. A year ago, Live Messenger, Live Mail and other sites and services were inaccessible to users for part of a day. Last April, Live Mail and Messenger also went dark for several hours. In neither incident did Microsoft reveal the underlying cause.

Muglia, the head of theMicrosoft service group, said that Windows Server 2008 did not have a “live” element of its own, then continued on to note that the OS powered an unspecified number of Microsoft’s sites and online services. “The biggest ‘live’ component is the fact that Windows Live runs on Windows Server,” he said. “Microsoft.com is running entirely on Windows Server 2008 right now.”

Today, in Los Angeles Microsoft is going to launch their Windows Server 2008. However, Microsoft is denying that the problem yesterday and today has anything to do with the new server software. Then again we dont know if the Windows Server 2008 was even being used.

I don’t know about everyone else but i’m tired of microsoft and it’s problems. Sure most applications have glitches but they usually enlighten the customers to why or what they can do to stop it from happening but microsoft leaves us in the dark. I’m extremely fustrated with all the glitches windows vista has hopefully microsoft will do something to enlighten their customers, I know as a Windows Vista user, i wish i had purchased a Mac, they seem to be more reliable.
