Future cars could ‘flinch’ before collisions

You know how you flinch when someone hits you?  Well, what if that reaction was built into a car?  This flinching system can distinguish between moving objects, like cars, and stationary objects, such as trees.  It can also reduce the depth to which the car was smashed by up to 3.5 inches–that’s about the width of your ankle!  I think this is a wonderful idea because not every part of your car is protected by air bags.  This flinching system, designed mostly for side-collisions, can rectify this and offer you more safety while driving.
