External hard drive a great option for working on the go
This sounds like a good buy for those of you shopping on black Friday. This external hard drive is a good back up to have. If your PC should ever fail, you can restore it all with this. It has a document synchronization feature that makes sure both your desktop and your laptop have the same data if that is what you prefer. I think it is a smart buy because you can image your PC’s entire hard drive. You never know what can happen to your computer with all of these virsuses and trojans out there like we discussed in class. I know I’m going to Best Buy this black Friday. http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/ptech/11/02/maxtor/index.html#cnnSTCText

This is a great and relatively inexpensive way to backup your hard drive. Capacity ranges from 80GB to 160GB, which is bigger than my desktop’s capacity, and the price range is between $100-150. One drawback however, is the fact that you can only copy files from MyDocuments and Desktop, and when you choose to image the hard drive, it images the entire drive, partitions included. A good attribute of this external hard drive is that it writes relatively fast- according to the article it wrote 10GB of information in 9 minutes and 44 seconds. I’ve only had a computer crash on me once, and I lost all of my information without any back up. Now I use two different flash keys to back up all of my important files… an external hard drive would probably be a good investment for me in the future!
