I attended the MALES, FEMALES, and UBSS’s Battle of the Sexes on Wednesday November 19, in the TRLC from 8 pm until 10 pm. At this event the boys and girls were split into two groups and were asked trivia questions as if it was a game of jeopardy. The girls won the game but it was a lot of arguing that the game was fixed because the men got way harder questions. There was much more people there then i had expected. You should attend this event if you are a student at Stockton, male or female. It was a good time and even though it went well over two hours, i had no complaints. The questions asked were very interesting and it helped you learn some every day trivia.

I also attended the mediation meeting in west quad from 12:20 until about 1:00 on November 20. At this event you basically sit in your chair and mediate. There was no sitting Indian style and “hmmmmmmmm’ing” like I had expected. I have learned that mediating is a great stress reliever, and it really helps you relax. There were probably about ten people at this event, and Frank and I were the only boys there. Anyone could attend this event, young or old. It’s a great thing to do if you feel you need to just get away from things and take a little time out of your day to relax. It really surprised me how relaxing meditating could be, I was also surprised i didn’t fall asleep.

    Frank the Tank!!!!!!!!

The even I went to was the Richard Wright Event. At the event they posted 3 winners on for short stories, one for poetry, and the other was for a narration. They then had professors and faculty express their interest in the author Richard Wright. I learned about the most famous short stories and novels he wrote. I recommend everyone to go to an event that deals with Richard Wright because his work is very interesting. Something that was most interesting was the different ages that were at the event. There were students from high school and adults in their 60 are all discussing the authors work.

The event I went to was the meditation program in West Quad 104. I went with a classmate Mark Simko to the meditation program. At the meditation the instructure told us to relax and visualize water resting through our toes. Then she told us to image the water rising slowly till it reaches our neck. The whole time I was thinking about a Bahamas Blue water on a resorted island. This program has nothing to do with the presidential nomination, but I would recommend the presidential nominees to go. The most interesting things about this program is that I was capable of focusing on my thoughts.

At this event, Marvelys Brown, who is twenty four years old told us about how she had been diagnosed with aids when she was nineteen years old. She encouraged everybody to get tested and she had written the book called “The Naked Truth,” which will be coming out in August. Many people had attended this event, many students, teachers, coaches and even a few younger people. Anybody and everyone was welcome. I was very interested because I thought she was a strong woman being so happy and proud, and almost cocky, but still having aids.
