You will post your thesis statements in the comment section here and then comment on each other’s thesis statements. Please offer very specific advice how your team members could improve their thesis statements.

Thesis: How can two citizens of the same government have similar cultural backgrounds, yet one is hired to kill the other? The Janjaweed are being paid by the government of Sudan to kill innocent people due to their religious beliefs.

Imagine being a rape victim in Darfur, what resources do you have? What if you were arrested, for seeking medical help? Compared to available resources in America, the women of Darfur have no resources to help them with their ordeal.

Thesis:
What if you were someone living in Darfur in these present genocidal times. What would you do, and how would you react to the situation?
Brittany:
I like the fact that you mentioned that they come from similar cultures, but one is being killed by the other because they believe in something different.
Tonya:
I like the fact that you’re comparing the resources that Darfurian women have, to the resources that American women have.

I like how you asked a question you have me wanting to know more? What are you going to be writing about though?
Tonya:
I like the fact that you are going to compare and contrast how a rape victim is treated between the two countries. Good thesis draws the reader in and gets to the point!

Paula- I can tell your paper is going to be interesting, but your thesis doesn’t give the reader a clear idea of what you will be writing about. = [
Brittany- good job as always = ]…. Your thesis makes the reader want to know more about the Janjaweeds and the role they play in the genocide.
