Goverment prevention of genocide in Darfur has proven almost useless, and to really stop genocide in Darfur greater messures will have to be taken.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the world Janjaweed? Most people think that it’s a kind of marijuana but it’s not, it’s something a lot worse than that. The word Janjaweed means Devils on Horseback, and that is exactly what they are. The Janjaweed are devilish people who have a long history, are mercenaries, and causing mass genocide. It’s unbelievable how terrible the Janjaweed really are and how they get away with what they do. They live up to the name devil on horseback.

Jim and Nick, good work. I have comments for you for tomorrow’s class.

Claudia and Alycia, you are late. Unacceptable.

Put yourself in the position of a Sudanese woman. You have no food to feed your family, you’ve been raped by the janjaweed, and your husband left you because you are not worth anything. Now put yourself in the same scenario but in America. would there be a difference? would someone in this country still find you valuable even though you have been raped?

Spagz1423: i like your thesis statments. its very well written and explains alot in that little paragragh. i like how you compared it to what people really think it is. good job.

jac10k: i think you should elaborate more on your thesis statement. its very simple. you should try to pull in the reader.

Woman and children in Darfur are being raped and killed everyday, but does the American government really care?
