I will continue helping here, but there wont be the stress of needing to complete 20hr os time. Ive learned that this world is getting worse by the day and more people need to help make it better. Water Watch was a good fit to me but making first semester freshman complete service learning is cruel and evil. let them atleast be on there second or more semester! My advice to you is to get it done early!!! I am happy is over just because i saved too much to do in the end. I work with all other students that care about the environment. Being around all the people that care is one of the better parts of this "jog." The only part I kinda like is sitting in a chair selling books online because theres a bunch of people in the computer lab that I'm in so I'm not alone even though there all doing different things. I wish O could interact with more people but thats up to Mr. Lakew. This placement isn't stressful at all and its not hard either its just boring so i just bring my ipod and listen to music. The only resource available to me is a computer, carts, and boxes. The best part for me is when I'm done and can go back to my room. I hate having to go to random people asking for books, going to the book store looking for books people can't sell and then carrying them all up to flights of steps. Before I got to my placement I can't wait to get it done. After I'm done I feel hungry. A day later I feel like not going back. Even though I haven't been at the site very long, I still formed abond with some of the younger children. I would actually like to continue volunteering at the boys and girls club, it would give me something to do in my spare time! = ] :grin: At first the people at the boys and girls club weren't very welcoming, but after a while they reliezed I wasn't another service learning student, who didn't want to be bothered. I was there for a reason. I have learned so much about the larger world, not everyone comes from a good neighborhood with good up bringings. While I was volunteering at the site, I learned so much about myself, I learned that I am a very compassionate and caring person and it always feels like I have to help someone. Overall I had a great experience at my service learning site, it is a great way to meet new people and learn new stuff about yourself. The event I went to was the meditation program in West Quad 104. I went with a classmate Mark Simko to the meditation program. At the meditation the instructure told us to relax and visualize water resting through our toes. Then she told us to image the water rising slowly till it reaches our neck. The whole time I was thinking about a Bahamas Blue water on a resorted island. This program has nothing to do with the presidential nomination, but I would recommend the presidential nominees to go. The most interesting things about this program is that I was capable of focusing on my thoughts. Frank the tank!!!!!!!!!!!
