We have to put in a long day before we meet on the 19th.  Those that were present and who have contacted me decided on Wednesday May 14th.  We meet here and we have lots of work to do with the gear.  YOu need to bring every bit of your gear in for a gear check, and we will set up all the tents, seal seams, and decide which ones we are taking.  We have to watch a video and take a test to allow us to drive.  This is important.  For those who still haven’t gotten  your auto insurance cards to me - I need them tomorrow.  The person who does all of our paperwork is going out on surgery and we are at our limit.  Steve Nerney, I need the paperwork for your TA before noon tomorrow (well, 12:45).

good questions! We have lots of work to do before we go. We do have to sit and watch a video about driving and take a test. Every one that can drive will need to drive on this trip, so I’m glad you are up for it. The syllabus is there, and if you go there you will see the dates for the trip. We meet on Monday the 19th to pack and have all kinds of chats and to take care of business. So, on the 19th everyone will meet at 9:00 am, and we work all day. We go home and get a good night’s sleep then we leave Stockton on Tuesday at 8 am - sharp. We have to have two meetings before then and they will be mandatory - so I need to have everyone alert and responding to my emails. I can’t know the dates yet. I am unbelievably swamped with work and much of it due to our trip. I am going to start kicking people out of the class on Tuesday - those who haven’t helped with fund raising or tents, those that will not respond to email etc. I’m going to copy your email and my response to the blog….you might want to tell your friend Joe that he is number one on the list to be dropped since he has had zero contact with me.

We got the group site at The Grand Canyon, North Rim…..on the days that I had planned - Memorial Day weekend (or close).  It’s an amazing site - right on the rim, no kidding!

After my last blast, only one person came by to see me to discuss their no-show on Thursday.  So, I will be taking steps in the very near future to lower the number of people coming on this trip.  Non-student status is still pending and is a separate issue from the above.  Deposits are due, now past due.  The note that we got our account number went up last week - all should have been prepared to put the $200 down on April 12th, so this should be done.  Tuesday morning I will check with the Bursar’s office to see who has put the $200 down.  If you haven’t  put the $200 down, you won’t go on the trip (again, non-students status is on hold, so you guys hold on to your deposits until we get the word from above).

Of the 6 people registered for GNM2420, 3 did not show today and hadn’t contacted me with any kind of excuse. Now, I have made it clear that you must help with the fundraisers, and you must help with prep. Several cannot come to the sessions on Mondays, but today was a day you could have helped. Why didn’t you help with the tents, seam sealing, fixing, and or the bake sale. I haven’t yet checked the Independent Study list - that’s because I am exhausted from spending my day on the bake sale and tents to help with fees!!!!!

My last messages said that now was the time to show me you could do team work and you failed. So, the question is, are you really the right people for this trip? You will not be allowed to do this: sit back and let others do the work for you. You must be engaged in all chores when possible. I have not seen but 2 paper outlines - they were due Monday and again many of you have not even bothered to talk with me about it.

Believe me when I say you will get on the ball and you will get on the ball now, otherwise you will not go on the trip with us. I may have given POI but that was with the understanding that you were going to join in.

We have plenty of tents to seal, to set up, work to be done. this is an ASAP alert. No kidding around because you can believe after today’s extravaganza we generated interest. We filled the two spots vacated and my email box is getting more and more hits.

One last time:  bake sale and WaWa Hoagie Ticket sales next Thursday 8-6:15.  Please bake stuff for the sale!  Let your imagination (or love of particular goodies guide you).  Even a little helps a lot.  Volunteer to make WaWa ticket sales signs, man the bake sale table for a while….Get your paperwork in ASAP.  Start working on your paper and get an outline, detailed, to me BY NEXT MONDAY.

Hi All, I just got a “low enrollment” notice from the college - so, I’ll now ask you to go ahead and register IF YOU CAN, financially. 

The separate, but equally as important $200 deposit cannot be deposited until the accountants approve my paperwork.  I am missing important paperwork from several of you - and I need it Monday - I can get the paperwork in on Tuesday, then an account number.  THEN, with the deposits in, I can start reserving our campsites and hotel rooms.  The sooner the better.  I may have to rearrange the schedule if I cannot get campsites for the schedule as it is now.
