Introduction to Financial Management
November 27th, 2007 by cglaumThis web site supports Christopher Glaum’s Introduction to Financial Management course (FINA 3110) at Richard Stockton College. The goal of this course is to introduce students to the key areas of financial management, with an emphasis on analyzing financial statements. Throughout the semester, we utilize concepts learned from the textbook, class discussions, and current events to understand financial markets, as well as the characteristics of various companies and industries.
Below is the course syllabus for the Spring 2010 semester:
For this course, students need to have a working knowledge of (1) a word processing application such as Microsoft Word, (2) spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel, and (3) presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint. Students will also be required to perform basic Internet searches for the financial analysis project.
The class discussions for each chapter are based on Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and supporting documents in Microsoft Word and PDF Format. All of these resources can be found at this web site. After the first meeting night, it will be the student’s responsibility to print out all of the documents and have them available when that information is being discussed in class.
