Persephone Morphesis
So it’s actually been a while since I went to see Zaharati Morphesis speak, but looking at my notes and helping me remembr that I was under the impression that this woman was one of the most uninhibited people I’ve ever encountered. She travels the world, writing books, performing in one-woman plays, and she really thinks that she is the Greek goddess Persephone, married to Hades, the god of the underworld. I am under the impression that she lives an exciting, interesting life.
Zaharati wrote her own book of poems, all dealing with the Greek myth of Persephone and Hades. She even created her own character, called the Red Queen, who plays the part of the other woman. Zaharati became comepletely intertwined with her character Persephone, and it is obvious that she is doing what she loves with her life. If only everyone ended up that happy with their jobs!
During her presentation she explained to us the myth of Persephone, read us some of her poems, and even ended by singing us a song she wrote to her cat. Unfortunately, i had no tbeen feling well at all that day, and within the last 5 mnutes of her presentation, I got reaaalllly dizzy and I had to close my eyes and focus on not passing out, so I missed out a little bit. It was a shame, but I got her point, and I enjoyed listening to her.
