LITT by Phone Contest
The Literature Program at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is proud to unveil the results of the LITT by Phone contest. Look what can be done with cell phones, e-mail, and the internet!
More than two score pictures that entrants consider somehow “Literary” were transmitted to the contest web address. Those pictures were then loaded to movie-making software at www.animoto.com; that site did all the heavy lifting of movie making.
Thanks to all who entered and made this fine community exercise possible.
Five mixes were created, and 2 have been chosen that we believe show our October Literariness to best advantage. You can see the results are below.

Did you know that October is “Arts & Humanities” month? Google it — you’ll see. In honor of this time, and in celebration of the lovely Autumn we appear to be having, the Literature program announces the swanky “LITT BY PHONE” contest. It’s easy to enter (and easy to win).
The Rules
- Participants need a cell-phone with picture taking capabilities.
- Fan out across campus (or at home) and take pictures of things that you consider to be representative of the world of literature.
- Send those pictures to the following super anonymous contest e-mail: littprogram@earthlink.net
The contest runs from October 1st through Halloween, 2007. At midnight on that magical evening the selection committee will go into super production mode using web software that can be found here: animoto.com. We’ll create a Web Movie from your images and let you all know where it can be accessed.
Suggestions for Images
Anything that YOU think represents Literature will work. Pictures of friends carrying books to Shakespeare; pictures of intriguing reference works in the library; pictures of computers; of Dave Roessel; of you and your friends at a picnic; of beautiful lake Fred; of bookmarks of your own creation; of literary thoughts (whatever they might be). Break the mold. Send those pictures in!
How To WIN
Just enter. The challenge of phone photography and the thrill of helping to create a unique LITT Program production is quite a prize — and everyone wins.
The Fine Print
You can send in as many pictures as you like. We encourage only those who won’t garner additional charges by sending images. The selection committee (made up of the flier/flyer committee plus others) reserves the right to ignore pictures deemed in poor taste. Please do not send pictures without the consent of those photographed — these images will be placed on the web.
