Irrespective of discipline, we seek to push the boundaries of medieval and early modern, to include the premodern cultures and traditions of Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, in conjunction with the European Middle Ages and Renaissance, to radically rethink premodernity from a global, non-ethnocentric, and comparative perspective.
