Hello, my name is Kimberly M. For my American Short story class, I decided to pick a very famous story to do my web page on. “Sonny’s Blues,” written by James Baldwin, was the short story that captured my interest. Baldwin’s short story is an excellent piece of literature that takes the reader into a specific time period, relationships with family members, and many other important elements in literature.

As shown above, an image of James Baldwin’s short story as well as an image of James Baldwin himself. Personally, I did not know what James Baldwin looked like prior to reading his short story. It is always nice to see the face of an auhor to correspond to his or her work.
